18:00 Alexander Litvinenko: Death by Polonium

A showing of the documentary: Rebellion: The Case of Litvinenko with comments and answers from Alexander Litvinenko's widow Marina Litvinenko Alexander Litvinenko died in London on 23 November 2006, the first confirmed victim of Polonium poisoning, a lethal nuclear material. His widow, Marina, has finally won the right for a full inquest into his death, including the alleged role of the Russian government. Russia has so far refused to extradite the two suspects, ex-KGB officers Andrey Lugovoy and Dmitry Kovtun, to face trial in the UK. This inquest is the only chance for Marina and the rest of the world to uncover the "who, how and why" of Litvinenko's murder with a deadly radioactive substance. The Sunday Times published details of Alexander Litvinenko's ties with MI6, the British intelligence service.  According to The Sunday Times during three years of cooperation with MI6 prior to his death in 2006, Litvinenk received some £90,000 from MI6. Marina Litvinenko said she could not comment on her testimony to the police nor her husband's relationship with MI6 because she had signed a non-disclosure agreement covering all the documents submitted to the forthcoming inquest. In addition the UK government has applied for a Public Interest Immunity (PII) certificate, allowing or the non-disclosure of information on grounds of national security. The inquest has been delayed and will now be heard later this year. This event is FREE but those wishing to attend MUST register in advance.  To register, please use the SIHRG Website by clicking here  (SIHRG website: www.sihrg.org).
